Jump into Spring: Saratoga County Hosts Free Double Dutch Clinic for Local Youth
Looking for a fun and active way to keep the kids entertained this spring? Saratoga County’s Department of Aging and Youth Services is inviting families across our community to join a free Double Dutch Jump Rope Clinic from April 15 to April 17 at Gavin Park in Saratoga Springs. This energetic event promises to build confidence, promote fitness, and bring our neighbors together. Registration is required and open until all 100 spots are filled—so don’t wait to sign up at www.saratogacountyny.gov/DAYS.
Organized during Youth Month, the clinic encourages children ages 6 to 17 to discover or improve their Double Dutch skills in a supportive and inclusive atmosphere. Participants will learn from nationally recognized Double Dutch trainers, Ms. K and her Swagga Jumpers. Whether your child is brand-new to jumping or already has some experience, they’ll be grouped by age to learn a fun group dance routine and sharpen their individual Double Dutch moves.
This three-day clinic runs from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and takes place during spring break, making it the perfect time for kids to stay active, build teamwork, and connect with friends in our county. Last year, 77 children from eight local municipalities took part, and the County is excited to welcome even more this year.
To celebrate everyone’s hard work, family, friends, and community members are encouraged to attend a live performance on Thursday, April 17 at 2 p.m. in the Christopher Dailey Gym at Gavin Park. This showcase gives participants a chance to demonstrate their newly learned skills and routines in front of an enthusiastic audience.
What to Bring & What to Expect:
• Comfortable athletic clothing and sneakers
• A water bottle to stay hydrated
• A bagged lunch for Tuesday and Wednesday
• Lunch will be provided on Thursday
We’re proud to see our community come together for healthy activities that build lasting bonds.
